When word got out in March that there was a possibility of a shutdown of non-essential services in Canada, many residents charged into grocery and big box stores to stock and lock up for the apocalypse. This led to the massive shortage in essentials and surprisingly- toilet paper (CBC, 2020; Sajan, 2020).
