As time went on, I and some others found themselves in denial. We would roam the streets or in desolate areas in order to feel some sense of normalcy. Even having the facts laid out in front of me the act of accepting that this was truly happening was hard. It let me understand why some people- like climate deniers, happen as they have their own motives and being misled by various sources. For me, it was not about being misled, though there were conspiracy theories of its origins such as being a bioengineered disease (Ignatius, 2020), but it was my unwillingness to give up the life that I knew.
